Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian cricketer, has shared a glimpse into the cherished friendships he forged during his illustrious cricketing career. Yuvraj, who has been an integral part of Indian cricket history, opened up about the special bonds he shares with several teammates.
Notably, Yuvraj was renowned for his dynamic career as one of the country’s premier all-rounders. Debuting in 2000, Yuvi played a pivotal role in India’s cricketing history. His aggressive batting style, complemented by his left-arm spin, garnered him acclaim. Yuvraj’s standout moment came in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, where he earned the Player of the Tournament for his instrumental contributions to India’s victory.
Yuvraj Singh reveals who are his best friends
Yuvraj reminisced about the early days of his cricketing journey, highlighting the bond he shares with Zaheer Khan. The duo made their debut for the Indian national team together, and the camaraderie formed during those initial years has stood the test of time.
“I’ve had three, four close friends in the dressing room. I made my debut for India alongside Zaheer Khan,” said Yuvraj on TRS podcast.
Delving further into the roots of his friendships, Yuvraj pointed out the connections he established during his formative years in Indian cricket. Having played Under-16 and Under-19 cricket, Yuvraj developed strong bonds with Harbhajan Singh (Bhajji), Ashish Nehra, Virender Sehwag (Viru), and Gautam Gambhir (Gauti).
“I’ve played Under-16 and Under-19 with Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh). I’ve played domestic cricket with Ashish Nehra. I’ve played Under-19 with Viru (Virender Sehwag) and Gauti (Gautam Gambhir). So this batch is quite close to each other,” Yuvraj shared, highlighting the unique camaraderie formed during their younger days.

Golfing bonds with Ajit Agarkar and Sachin Tendulkar
Yuvraj also shed light on the enduring friendships that extend beyond the cricket field. The former all-rounder revealed that the camaraderie within this close-knit group goes beyond the cricketing arena, with some members, including Ajit Agarkar and Sachin Tendulkar, sharing a common interest in golf.
“We often meet. Some of us play golf as well, including Ajit Agarkar and Sachin Tendulkar,” Yuvraj added, showcasing the multifaceted nature of their friendships.
