In a stunning display of bowling prowess, Shamar Joseph led the West Indies to a thrilling eight-run victory over Australia in the second Test at the Gabba on Sunday.

Despite facing doubts about his fitness after a painful toe injury from a Mitch Starc delivery on Day 3, the young lad was cleared of serious injury and delivered a heroic performance.

Shamar Joseph’s sensational 7-wicket haul

Resuming at their second innings at an overnight score of 60 for 2, Steve Smith and Cameron Green set a strong foundation, nearing half-centuries in the first 20 overs of the penultimate day. However, Joseph shifted the momentum with a superb delivery that dismissed Green and followed it up by sending Travis Head back to the pavilion for a golden duck.

Joseph continued to dominate, claiming the wickets of key Australian players like Mitch Marsh and Alex Carey. Registering his second 5-wicket haul in as many games, Joseph’s strategic prowess induced a lofted shot from Starc, caught brilliantly by Kevin Sinclair at point.

As Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood succumbed to Joseph’s relentless attack, Smith’s steady efforts to chase the modest target proved futile. With Lyon falling, Joseph sealed the monumental win for the West Indies, dismissing Hazlewood for a duck in the 51st over.
