MS Dhoni, the name synonymous with last-over heroics, defied Father Time yet again in the 29th match of the IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

The 42-year-old former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, playing his 250th match for the franchise, walked in with just four balls remaining in the innings. He then proceeded to dismantle MI captain Hardik Pandya’s bowling, smashing three colossal sixes in a row for a match-defining 20 runs off just four deliveries.

However, a wave of concern washed over Dhoni’s fans as videos emerged on social media showing him limping noticeably after the game. Several clips depicted him with an ice pack strapped to his left foot as he boarded the team bus with visible discomfort.

Dhoni-Raina bromance warms hearts

Amidst the worry about Dhoni’s fitness, a heartwarming video emerged, capturing the hearts of millions of fans. The clip showed former CSK batter Suresh Raina lending a helping hand to Dhoni as he boarded the team bus. The act of camaraderie between the two retired Indian stalwarts, known for their on and off-field bond, rekindled memories of their playing days.
