In the 14th match of IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians (MI) faced Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium, where RR crushed MI by six wickets.
For RR, Trent Boult performed stunningly well by taking three wickets in his four-over spell. However, the start of MI was not good as they lost four wickets for just 20 runs. Captain Hardik Pandya came to bat at no.6 and scored 34 runs in 21 balls, hitting six fours. After Yuzvendra Chahal took the wicket of Hardik, Mumbai’s batting lineup collapsed, and they were eventually restricted for 125/9 in 20 overs.
Irfan Pathan reprimands Hardik Pandya for his captaincy
Irfan Pathan, the former Indian cricketer, showed his anger at Hardik for his poor captaincy and irresponsible batting as he was batting on 34 before he lost his wicket. He was well set in the middle but threw his wicket while attempting a big shot. With Pandya departing at 76/5 in the 10th over, MI could manage only 49 more to their total.
Reacting to the same, Pathan took hard dig at Hardik and wrote, “Ppl who understand the game well know this. If you are set, you got to see the team thru.”

Performances of Hardik Pandya in IPL 2024
IPL 2024 has been quite frightening for Hardik so far with bat, ball and captaincy. Pandya has scored just 69 runs in three matches, while his bowling has been ordinary as well. In seven overs, the allrounder bowled this season he managed to take only one wicket and conceded 76 runs at an economy of 10.86.
