Early damage by Bangladesh bowlers
Tanzim Hasan played a pivotal role in dismantling the South African top order, claiming the wickets of Reeza Hendricks (0), Quinton de Kock (11) and Tristan Stubbs (0). Meanwhile, Taskin struck a crucial blow by dismissing the key wicket captain, Aiden Markram, for just 4 runs. Taskin’s delivery to Markram on the last ball of the fourth over proved to be lethal, sealing the fate of the South African skipper early in the innings.

Taskin Ahmed’s remarkable delivery: Fall of Aiden Markram
Taskin angled the delivery in, pitching it on a length around the off stump. Markram, eager to assert himself, went for the drive, hoping to capitalize on any loose deliveries. However, the ball held its line after pitching, exhibiting minimal movement and catching Markram off guard. Markram, expecting the ball to shape away, played his shot from the middle stump. Nevertheless, the lack of deviation deceived him as the ball struck the inside half of the off stump, shattering his stumps in the process. It was a classic case of misjudgment, compounded by Taskin’s impeccable execution.
