India made light work of the 244-run chase and registered a comfortable 7-wicket win to clinch the five-match ODI series with an unbeatable 3-0 lead against New Zealand on Monday.
With the win, Virat Kohli has become the first Indian captain to win back-to-back ODI series in Australia and New Zealand.
After the match, Shami was awarded his second ‘Man of the match’ award of the ongoing series. He scalped three wickets and gave 41 runs in his nine overs.
Shami, who was accompanied by Kohli at the presentation ceremony spoke few words in English.

He said, “It’s really difficult to bowl against the wind. One comes with the wind and the other is against the wind. It is difficult but not too hard. Bhuvi at the other end was also a great help. Sticking to areas where we want to bowl is the key.”
At the end, Doull appreciated Shami’s English and said, “Your English, Bahut Accha. (Your English is very good)”
