Rohit Sharma dives backward to save his wicket but fails badly

Rohit Sharma was the top-scorer for India as he made 62 off 77 balls during the visitors’ successful 244-run chase against the hosts New Zealand in the 3rd ODI of the five-match series at the Bay Oval on Monday.

Rohit’s innings was laced with three fours and two sixes. The right-handed opener combined with Shikhar Dhawan (28) to get India off to a decent start posting a 39-run stand for the 1st wicket. He then partnered captain Kohli (60) to add another 139 runs for the second wicket and put India on the course of a memorable series win in New Zealand.

Rohit was looking solid to register his 23rd ODI hundred but got stumped off the bowling of left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner. He even dived backward to save his wicket but failed badly.

It was the first time since 2012 that Rohit got stumped and the last time he got out in the same manner was against the same bowler during the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka that year.
