The Super-over hero for England, Jofra Archer is enjoying himself after the World Cup victory. The young speedster impressed everyone with his consistency and pace throughout the tournament.
Considering his outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League 2019, England’s selectors picked Archer for the World Cup squad. Archer dismissed 20 batsmen in 11 matches, finishing as the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament after Australia’s Mitchell Starc (27 wickets) and New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson (21 wickets).
England’s skipper Eoin Morgan showed great confidence in the young talent by giving him the opportunity to bowl the Super-over in the final match. Jofra held his nerves under pressure and delivered for his team as England won their first World Cup title.
On Monday, England team met Prime Minister Theresa May at 10 Downing Street. May was really excited to welcome the players as she quoted, “You have helped the nation fall in love with cricket once again“.
During the event, Archer was seen in a playful mood as he tried to distract English opener Jason Roy standing beside him.
