Hanuma Vihari will captain India A team in the two four-day games against hosts New Zealand and Shubman Gill will lead the side in two tour matches and three one-day games.
On the New Zealand tour, Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal are expected to steer India A off to a good start. Suryakumar Yadav, who has been in sublime form lately, has also been included in the squad.
Jharkhand’s Ishan Kishan has also been picked as the wicket-keeper. All eyes will be on Hardik Pandya, who is making his comeback to the international level after being sidelined due to his back surgery.
Also, Test specialists like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma will get much-needed match time in New Zealand ahead of the two-Test series, beginning in Wellington on February 21. The second Test will be played in Christchurch from February 29.
