After losing the Test series 2-0 against New Zealand, Virat Kohli received some tough questions regarding the poor show of Team India. However, a question with respect to Kohli’s behavior on Day 2 of the Christchurch Test annoyed the Indian skipper, and he lashed out at a journalist stating, “don’t ask questions with half details.”
During the second Test, a moment captured a lot of attention when Kohli gave angry send-offs to New Zealand batsmen and also showed a gesture to silence the crowd at Hagley Oval.
Now, Kiwi captain Kane Williamson has also reacted to Kohli’s animated actions during the game.
Williamson termed Kohli as a ‘passionate cricketer’ and surmised that folks shouldn’t overreact on the matter.
“It is Virat, and he is passionate on the field. I don’t think we need to read too much into it,” said Williamson.
Kohli had the worst series with the bat as he only managed to score 38 runs at a dreadful average of 9.50. Due to his poor show, the 31-year-old also lost his number one spot in Test rankings to Australia’s Steve Smith.
Williamson, on the other hand, also had an average series as he clubbed only 97 runs, but his 89 in the opening game helped the hosts to defeat visitors by 10-wickets.
After winning both the matches, the Black Caps have acquired the third spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) with 180 points.
