There is no denying that Indian cricket fans treat their favourite stars nothing less than God. There have been abundant incidents when fans have somehow managed to break the security barricade in order to go near their best-loved cricketers.
A similar episode took place during the recently-concluded first T20 International (T20I) between India and South Africa at the at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.
It all happened after the end of the first innings when a fan breached security and came running down straight to India skipper Rohit Sharma while he was leaving the field along with other teammates. The fan managed to touch feet of Rohit and also clicked a selfie with the Nagpur-born superstar.

In the contest, after opting to bowl first, the hosts restricted South Africa at 106/8 in their allotted 20 overs. India pacers Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar wreaked havoc, destroying Proteas’ top order and picking as many as five wickets to reduce the visitors to 9/5 in just 2.3 overs.
Keshav Maharaj (41), Aiden Markram (25) and Wayne Parnell (24) then played some handy knocks to recover South Africa from early blows and take them over the mark of 100.
In response, India lost captain Rohit (0) and star batter Virat Kohli (3) quite early. But, the pair of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav took the Men in Blue over the finish line in 16.4 overs with eight wickets in hand. Rahul smashed an unbeaten 51, including 2 fours and 4 sixes, while Suryakumar smashed an undefeated 50 from 33 deliveries, with the help of 5 fours and 3 maximums.
