The 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was held between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday. The hosts completely dominated the proceedings in the high-scoring contest and registered their fourth win of the ongoing 16th season of the cash-rich league.
The epic contest also witnessed RCB star Virat Kohli and DC pacer Ishant Sharma getting reunited. Notably, both Kohli and Ishant have been teammates since their U-19 days, and they have often termed each other as ‘best friends’ due to their long-standing friendship.
The bonding between the two iconic Indian cricketers was seen after the conclusion of the game when both Kohli and Ishant shared some light-hearted moments. The official IPL Twitter handle shared a video in which Kohli, accompanied by Ishant and Axar Patel, can be seen laughing wholeheartedly.
The video also showcased moments where the 34-year-old received a warm reception from Delhi fans. Not to mention that prior to the match, Kohli also met with his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma.

Speaking about the match, the Challengers posted a massive total of 181/4 in 20 overs, thanks to crucial half-centuries from Mahipal Lomror and Kohli. While Lomror scored an unbeaten 54 off 29 deliveries, Kohli went on to hit 46-ball 55.
In reply, Phil Salt led the Capitals’ chase with a thunderous knock. He hammered RCB bowlers all around the park and ended up scoring 87 from just 45 balls, featuring 8 fours and 6 sixes. The home team finished off the proceedings in 16.4 overs with seven wickets in hand.
“My whole journey started here. I was watched by the selectors at this ground and selected. I feel nothing but gratitude, god has blessed me with such amazing things, I can only bow down,” said Kohli while talking about Delhi’s stadium during the innings break.
