The highly-anticipated India-Pakistan clash at the Asia Cup 2023 left fans disheartened due to persistent rain showers that disrupted the game. However, it was not just cricket enthusiasts who were disappointed with the weather as India’s captain Rohit Sharma was also seen in frustration amidst the rainfall after he was spotted expressing his displeasure towards a cameraman during the rain interruption.

Although the match between India and Pakistan saw the Green Team restrict Men in Blue to 266 runs in 48.5 overs, it was marred by frequent rain delays throughout the course of the game. The first interruption occurred during the fifth over when India was at 15/0, and it was during this rain delay that Rohit’s irritation became evident.

As the players were forced to leave the field, Rohit took his place in the dugout near the boundary rope, eagerly awaiting the resumption of play. The cameraman was quick to train his lens on Rohit, capturing his every move as the opening batter waited for the rain to relent. Frustrated by the constant attention, Rohit was seen furiously gesturing for the cameraman to stop filming him and to shift the focus elsewhere.

The player’s efforts go in vain as the match gets abandoned

Despite the interruptions caused by the rain, there were notable performances in the match. Ishan Kishan was the standout player for India, scoring 82 runs from 81 deliveries, while Hardik Pandya contributed significantly with 87 runs from 90 balls. On the bowling front, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi shone brightly, taking four crucial wickets for just 35 runs. But unfortunately the efforts from players of both sides went in vain as the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled in the second innings.

Nevertheless, Pakistan still managed to secure a berth in the Super 4 based on the win they registered in the opening match of the tournament. Meanwhile, India’s hope now depends on their next and must-win clash against Nepal.
