Pakistan’s star bowler Haris Rauf is well-known for his fiery fast bowling and on-field aggression. He has troubled many batters with his sheer pace and is among the very few to have the ability to clock 150 kmph consistently. Rauf recently picked his favourite all-rime bowler and surprised many as he didn’t choose the likes of Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram but rather named a non-Pakistani seamer as his role model.
Haris Rauf’s rise in the white-ball cricket
It is worth mentioning that Rauf has so far represented Pakistan in 62 T20Is and 28 ODIs. He bagged 83 scalps in the shortest format of the game, while his tally of wickets in the 50-over format reads 53. Rauf was most recently seen playing for Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 and had a decent outing before missing the Super Fours match against India due to injury.

Haris Rauf picks Dale Steyn as his all-time favourite bowler
In an interaction with International Cricket Council (ICC), Rauf recently named his inspiration by picking his all-time favourite fast bowler. The speedster named South Africa legend Dale Steyn as his favourite and admitted that he tries to copy the former Proteas cricketer’s aggression on the field.
“Mai hamesha follow Dale Steyn ko karta hoon, jab se main usko dekh raha hoon. Uska jo aggression hai vo mujhe kaafi pasand hai. Jis tarah woh wicket le ke aggression show karta hai, kosish karta hoon ki main bhi ground mein us tarah he aggression karu, but mera thoda sa jyada he ho jaata hai. But Dale Steyn mera all the time favourite hai. (I always follow Dale Steyn since the time I am watching him play. I try to replicate his aggression after taking a wicket, but I think I overdo it a bit. But Dale Steyn is my favourite bowler of all time),” said Rauf.
Rauf will next be seen in action during the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Pakistan will start their campaign in the ICC event against the Netherlands on October 6. Meanwhile, they will face arch-rivals India on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
