India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since 2013, and they last played a Test against each other in December 2007 , even though they keep playing against each other in the ICC tournaments.

To end the test series drought of 16 years, Najam Sethi, the PCB chief, has come up with a unique proposal a couple of days ago. Sethi proposed the idea of a possible India vs Pakistan Test Series at a neutral venue either in Australia, England or South Africa.

It’s well-known that the rivalry between India and Pakistan is considered one of the greatest in the cricketing world. But fans from both sides will have to wait a little longer as the two nations failed to reach a mutual agreement. As the BCCI shows no interest in the proposal, and halt has been again put over the thought of watching these two great cricketing playing against each other.

Earlier, Sethi said, “Yes, I think bilateral Test matches can be played in Australia, England, South Africa.”

In an interview with Sydney Morning Herald, Najam said, “But I think the best bet would be England, and following that Australia. If you can get a house full in any of the Australian stadiums, fine, that would be great.”

However, a BCCI source confirmed that India has not planned to play a bilateral series against Pakistan soon.

“No plans for such kind of series to happen in the future or upcoming days. We aren’t ready for any kind of bilateral series with Pakistan,” said the unnamed BCCI official while speaking to news agency ANI.

Both nations last time met in October in a full-packed Melbourne stadium in Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022. India would be able to register a historic win against the neighbors by four wickets on the back of Virat Kohli’s greatest T20 knock that he has ever played.
