Stuart Broad, the experienced fast bowler from England, made a remarkable impact on the opening day of the ongoing solitary Test against Ireland, securing his place on the prestigious Lord’s honours board through an outstanding bowling performance.

During the initial hour of the game, the right-arm pacer showcased his lovely skills by dismantling the top order of the Irish team, claiming three crucial wickets as the tourists found themselves struggling at 64/4. Shortly after the lunch break, Broad got rid of opener James McCollum‘s for 36, which was his fourth scalp.

Ireland were in a precarious position at 98/5, but Curtis Campher‘s resilient performance ensured that the team survived the challenging second session. The Nottinghamshire cricketer didn’t have to wait long to achieve a special milestone as he removed Mark Adair and claimed a 5-fer for 51 runs from 17 overs, thereby securing his place on the Lord’s honours board. It was Broad’s 20th five wicket haul in the longest format and first at this venue since 2013.

Thanks to Broad’s exceptional bowling, England managed to dismiss the visiting team for a total of 172 runs. McCollum led the scoring for Ireland with 36 runs, followed by Campher (33) and Paul Stirling (30).
