The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was a dream season for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans as they witnessed MS Dhoni and Co. lift their fifth league title. The triumph turned out to be even more special when their favourite player Dhoni spoke about the plan to return in the next season as a gift from his side to the fans. However, the latest video from the CSK’s official social media handle has now left Dhoni’s admirers wondering if ‘Captain Cool’ is going to retire from the cash-rich league.

The 33-second clip shared by CSK across social media handles is supported by an emotional background score and depicts Dhoni climbing stairs as he walks back to the pavilion. The images of the moments from IPL 2023 were also superimposed on the video.

It is worth mentioning that the internet was recently flooded with Dhoni appreciation messages as the heartbroken fans recalled the 41-year-old’s illustrious career after India’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final loss against Australia.

Amidst all this also took place a controversial incident, where veteran India spinner and Dhoni’s former teammate Harbhajan Singh blasted out on a fan over giving all the credit for India’s ICC trophy victories to the Jharkhand cricketer.

Notably, India won three ICC events, including ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy under Dhoni’s leadership, and he’s the only skipper in the world cricket’s history to win all major international cricketing tournaments.

The past few days were a roller coaster ride of emotions for the Dhoni supporters. While the Tweet from Harbhajan left many fans fuming in anger, what now has evoked agony in them is the video posted by CSK that seems a possible goodbye tribute to Dhoni.

Here’s how fans reacted:
