Recently there were reports of India’s star batter Virat Kohli charging INR 11.4 crores for a single promotional post on Instagram. The news spread like wildfire, and the cricketer’s hefty charge for endorsement soon became a major talking point on the internet.

However, Virat has now come forward to clear the air surrounding his income from promotional posts and denied the viral claims. It is worth mentioning that Virat has around 256 million followers on Instagram, and he was ranked 14 on the list of highest-earning celebrities on Instagram by Hopper HQ. Meanwhile, football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo topped the charts with Lionel Messi at the second position.

Buzz around Virat’s exorbitant charges for an Instagram post:

The reports suggested that Virat charged over INR 11.4 crores for a single paid promotion on Instagram and went on to create a huge buzz on social media. It even made it to the news headlines and soon became a point of discussion among sports enthusiasts.

The denial and clarification from Virat:

Although Virat has a net worth of INR 1050 crores as per the StockGro and is the most followed Asian on Instagram, he rubbished the claim of earning 11 crores from endorsement on social media. The former India skipper took to his official Twitter handle to deny the claims.

“While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true,” wrote Virat.

On the work front, Virat is currently enjoying a well-deserved break ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 which will commence from August 30, with India set to start their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2.
