Amid the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in India, significant controversy involving the renowned Pakistan cricket presenter Zainab Abbas has erupted.

Allegations of  ‘anti-Hindu’ posts on social media have landed Zainab on the verge of getting stuck in legal trouble, leading to backlash from cricket fans.

Adding fuel to the controversy, an old tweet from Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has resurfaced and is gaining viral attention online.

This incident dates back to 2018 when the right-handed batter delivered a brilliant Test century against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

In response to his outstanding performance, Zainab made sarcastic remarks, referring to him as coach Mickey Arthur‘s son.

She wrote: “Well played @babarazam258 – loved how the boys went congratulating Mickey Arthur celebrating his ‘son’s’ century #PakvNZ.”

Babar Azam’s no non-sense reply

However, Babar’s response to Zainab’s comments has garnered attention as he criticized her for the overly sarcastic remark. His tweet, now circulating online, contains a stern rebuke directed at Zainab for her choice of words.

“Think before you say something and don’t try to cross your limits!!!” Babar tweeted back then.

Zainab deported to Dubai

Zainab, who gained limelight after her photograph with Indian superstar Virat Kohli during the T20 World Cup, had been in India as a part of the ICC Digital team, assigned to cover the ongoing ODI World Cup.

However, a series of her past tweets resurfaced on various social media platforms, leading to significant backlash and outrage among specific segments of the Indian audience.

In response to the intensifying controversy, Indian authorities took decisive action, reportedly requesting Zainab to depart the country. According to reports from Pakistan’s media outlets, she is currently in Dubai and is expected to return to Pakistan soo.
