In recognition of his exceptional diving catch at the backward point, Jadeja was honoured with the “fielder of the match” award, which was presented to him by the Indian fielding coach T. Dilip. A camaraderie of teammates gathered around Jadeja for this special moment, with Rahul, the previous award recipient, having the privilege of bestowing the medal upon him.

What made this occasion unique was that, in contrast to the customary practice of announcing award winners on television screens in the dressing room, this time, the “best fielder of the match” was unexpectedly revealed on the stadium’s large screen, taking the entire Indian squad by surprise.

During the award presentation, the Indian fielding coach commended Rahul and Jadeja for their exceptional diving efforts. He underlined the team’s commitment to saving runs as a collective effort, not just individual catches, which was why Jadeja was recognized as the top fielder for his overall performance.
