A defining moment of the match arrived in the 7th over of the DC’s innings. LSG’s Nicholas Pooran produced a stunning catch to dismiss the dangerous DC opener, Prithvi Shaw. Off the bowling of Ravi Bishnoi, Shaw attempted a slog sweep against an arm ball but mistimed the shot. Pooran, displaying exceptional anticipation, sprinted in from deep mid-wicket and completed a sensational diving catch to provide LSG with a crucial breakthrough.

DC shatters LSG’s unbeaten record

LSG posted a respectable total of 167/7 on the scoreboard, powered by Ayush Badoni‘s fiery 55 off just 35 balls.

In reply, DC got off to a good start, reaching 62/1 after the powerplay. However, LSG spinner Ravi Bishnoi tried to restrict DC’s scoring in the middle overs, conceding only 25 runs and taking two wickets. But a crucial partnership of 77 runs between Jake Fraser-McGurk (55 off 35) and Rishabh Pant (41 off 24) dashed LSG’s hopes.

DC chased down the target comfortably in just 18.1 overs, shattering LSG’s impressive record of winning all their previous matches while defending targets of 160 or more.
