In a minor security breach, as many as three fans entered the playing area towards the end of the second day of the ongoing pink-ball Test between India and Sri Lanka at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The fans breached the security to meet Indian superstar Virat Kohli, who was positioned at first slip in the final session of the second day’s play. One of the three fans also managed to click a selfie with Kohli before being whisked away by the security personnel.
The former India skipper was also taken aback by the sudden intrusion, but he still obliged the fans’ request and allowed one fan to click a selfie with him. Kohli signalled to them not to come too close due to the bubble protocols.
The whole incident took place during the sixth over of the Sri Lankan second innings when Kusal Mendis was taking treatment after being hit by Mohammed Shami‘s delivery. Sensing an opportunity to see their star player from close, three fans ran towards the players before the authorities controlled them.
