The much-anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 has garnered significant attention since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the tournament schedule last month. The opening match will witness England taking on New Zealand at the magnificent Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5.
Among the notable fixtures, the renowned Eden Gardens Stadium has been assigned the honour of hosting a total of five matches. This includes a crucial league match between India and South Africa, as well as one of the two highly anticipated semi-finals clash of the prestigious event.
Eden Gardens holds a special place in the hearts of cricket fans. Renowned as one of the most iconic cricket stadiums in India, it underwent a renovation ahead of the 2011 marquee event, increasing its seating capacity to an impressive 68,000. The stadium has a rich history of hosting significant cricketing events, including the unforgettable final of the 2016 T20 World Cup, where West Indies emerged victorious in a nail-biting clash against England.
Building upon the excitement surrounding the World Cup, Snehasish Ganguly, the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), made an important announcement on Monday (July 10) regarding ticket prices for the matches held at Eden Gardens. Cricket enthusiasts and eager fans can now look forward to securing their seats at this iconic venue and witnessing the thrilling battles among top teams from around the globe.
Here are the ticket rates for matches at Eden Gardens:
- Ticket prices for the World Cup semifinal match and India vs South Africa fixture will cost a minimum Rs 900 (upper tier), D and H block tickets will cost Rs 1500, C and K block tickets Rs 2500, with the maximum ticket price has been set at Rs 3000 for B and L blocks,
- Tickets for Bangladesh versus Qualifier 1 match will be the lowest in denominations of Rs 650 (upper tiers), Rs 1000 (D and H) and Rs 1500 (B, C, K, L).
- For Pakistan’s two fixtures against England and Bangladesh, the tickets will be Rs 800 (upper tier), Rs 1200 (D, H), Rs 2000 (C, K) and Rs 2200 (B, L).

The quadrennial event is scheduled to be played across 10 venues from October 5 to November 19. It’s worth noting that Team India will begin their campaign against Australia on October 8.
