Caribbean Premier League 2019: On Friday (September 6), Trinbago Knight Riders defeated Jamaica Tallawahs by 22 runs at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. TKR registered their second win of the season, moving at the top of the points table with 4 points.

Jamaica Tallawahs’s skipper Chris Gayle won the toss and elected to bowl first. Trinbago Knight Riders’ lost the early wicket of Lendi Simmons, but Tion Webster and Sunil Narine added 74 runs for the second wicket partnership. Tion played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 66 runs off 49 balls, while Narine scored 46 runs off 22 balls in his explosive inning.

Chasing a massive total of 191 runs, Jamaica Tallawahs scored 169 runs in their quota of 20 overs, falling 22 runs short. New Zealand’s James Neesham and Sunil Narine picked two wickets each. Narine was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for his all-round performance.

After the match, TKR owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan came out on the field to celebrate the victory and thank the fans.
