Top 5 batsman with most international runs in the last decade (2010-2019)

There have been 866 Test matches, three ODI World Cup tournaments, two Champions Trophy, and four T20 World Cups in the past decade. With so much cricket played, the past ten-years saw an enormous amount of runs being scored by batsmen from different nations. However, only a few among them were the dominator as they added the maximum number of runs in the past decennium.

Let’s have a look at five batsmen who scored most runs from 2010 to 2019:

1.) Virat Kohli

If there is one cricketer who appears in everyone’s mind whenever a discussion regarding successful modern-day batsman takes place, then it has to be, Virat Kohli. The right-hander has been phenomenal with his consistency and positive approach towards the game.

The Indian captain scored as many as 20960 international runs in the past decade, the most by any player in the history of the game. Amongst the all-time great cricketers who ruled this game with outstanding numbers, Kohli has successfully placed himself at 8th spot in the list of top-10 highest run-scorers. He’s the only cricketer amongst those 10 who is still playing the game.

2.) Hashim Amla

Considered as the genius cricketer, South Africa’s Hashim Amla had been prolific with his constant form in the international circuit. After retiring in the last year, the Durban-born batsman had put together a humongous 18672 international runs in his career, out of which, 15185 runs were scored between 2010 and 2019 in 286 matches.

3.) Joe Root

England’s Joe Root debuted in the last decade and showed to the cricketing fraternity as to what he’s capable of. With his outstanding flow of continuous performances, Root has placed himself at the third position in the list of highest run-scorer of the last decade.

In 264 international games, the English test cricket team captain has amassed 14108 runs.

4.) Kane Williamson

The modern cricket has produced four best players who are addressed together as fab-four. Kane Williamson is a part of that elite group, and no wonder he has been exemplary in the past decennium.

The Kiwi skipper has carried on the legacy of former great players from his country in the most meritorious fashion. Williamson has scored 14016 runs in 264 international appearances.

5.) David Warner

David Warner

Australia’s David Warner, who is known as ‘pocket dynamite,’ had an incredible past 10-year period. The southpaw has been exceptional with his attacking game. Warner exhibited his talent in all three formats.

The Aussie opener smashed 7000-plus runs in Tests, 4884 in ODIs, and over 1800 runs in T20Is. Warner managed to club 13778 runs in 260 international matches in the last decade.
