India Legends defeated Sri Lanka Legends in the Road Safety World Series final to clinch their second consecutive trophy at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Saturday. Even in the previous season of the retired cricketers’ tournament, India Legends had beaten Sri Lanka Legends.

Electing to bat first, the Sachin Tendulkar-led side posted a massive 195/6 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to scintillating knock by opener Naman Ojha. The right-handed batter smashed a brilliant century to help his team take control of the proceedings.

Notably, four India batters were dismissed for a single-digit scores while Tendulkar got out on a duck. However, Vinay Kumar (36) and Yuvraj Singh (19) provided meaningful support to Ojha, who went on to carry his bat and scored an unbeaten 108 from 71 deliveries, including 15 fours and a couple of sixes.

In response, Sri Lanka Legends kept losing wickets at regular stages and were reeling at 85/6 when Ishan Jayaratne (51) and Mahela Udawatte (26) formed a 63-run partnership to steady the innings. But that didnt last long as the Islanders were eventually bowled out for 162 in 18.5 overs, losing the contest by 33 runs.

For India, Vinay picked up three wickets for 38 in 3.5 overs while Abhimanyu Mithun bagged a couple while conceding 27 in his quota of 4 overs.
